CHIEF SECURITY OFFICER – Hospitality Sector

Scope and Purpose of Job:

  • In charge and control of all security matters
  • Allocate duties and from time to time spot check the performance of the security
    guards both hired and hotel own guards

Main Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Carry out daily briefings of the security staff at the beginning of every shift to inform
    them of the situation.
  • Get an arrival schedule from the Reception desk and check for any VIP arrival, brief
    security personnel so they can prepare appropriately for them.
  • Check the Occurrence book daily for a report on all cars parked in the parking areas.
  • Supervise the patrol of the premises by the security guards
    Ensure that, all the security risky areas within and outside the hotel is well covered
    Supervise security at the staff gate and ensure that they check all hotel staff as they
    go out.
  • Ensure that, the firearms are with the right people from the hired security firms and
    they have valued certificates and authority
  • Ensure that all security operations are conducted in a legally compliant, professional,
    ethical, and profitable manner by company policies and procedures as well as project
    plans and budgets
  • Provide virtual or on-site guidance to Security Officers (Armed and Unarmed) as
    required
  • Review written reports and activity summaries of Security Officers for completeness
    and accuracy.
  • Conduct periodic training exercises for security officers as needed or as deemed
    necessary
  • Carries out all responsibilities in an honest, ethical, and professional manner.
  • Responds promptly to all email and verbal communications
  • Meets as needed with client(s) to proactively address security, emergency and safety
    matters.
  • Meets as needed with client(s) to proactively address security, emergency and safety

  • Works closely with the Operations if applicable, to ensure the efficient, effective, and
    compliant operations of all designated Accounts
  • Meets as needed with client(s) to proactively address security, emergency and safety
    matters
  • May be responsible for orientation and training of Security Officers and other
    personnel.
  • Plays a central role in ensuring a safe, healthy, and secure workplace
    Reviews security reports to verify post orders and client requirements have been
    satisfactorily followed
  • May assist with coordinating staffing schedules.
  • Acts to ensure client requirements are met while controlling labor costs
  • Prepare the monthly Security Report to GM and copy Chairman for further action
  • Assist all your Security Personnel’s in all matters related to their duties
  • Carry out trainings and warm-ups for the hotel Security Staff
  • Attend management meetings as and when they occur to give feedback on security
    matters.
  • Carry out any other duties that maybe assigned to you by your superiors from time to
    time

Key Results Areas:

  • Maximum security to the property, guest and staff at any time
  • Good team work with your staff and the rest
    Minimal losses as a result of theft
  • NIL liabilities claims to the hotel

Key Skills

·    Minimum 3–5 years’ experience in hotel or hospitality security management.

  • Strong leadership and crisis management skills.
  • Familiarity with modern surveillance systems and access control technologies.
  • Excellent communication and conflict resolution abilities.
  • First aid/CPR certification is a plus.
  • Discreet, detail-oriented, and guest-focused.
  • Knowledge of safety regulations and emergency procedures.
