Marketing Manager

JOB PURPOSE: To achieve  business profitability through effectively promoting company products, managing sales team  performance, penetrating new markets and delivering sales revenues  with quality products that meet our customers needs.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Develop  and guide team in the execution of a sales & marketing strategy that will promote business performance and sustainability.
  • Maximise product sales revenue and exceed budgets through effective management and development of the sales executives.
  • Responsible for all the sales activity on a particular product line to ensure market penetration & ultimately increase market share.
  • Oversees & co-ordinates the generation of accurate annual sales forecasts for the specific product line to ensure sufficient stock availability at all times.
  • Effectively lead and direct the sales team in identifying potential customers and markets for improved business performance and market share.
  • Works directly with the marketing executives to identify advertising plans, sales promotions  in order to ensure  effective out reach to the target audiences.
  • Responsible for preparing accurate budgets, managing expenses as well as achieving margins on product sales.
  • Prepare periodic sales reports and discuss sales performance with the management team as well as agree on action areas.
  • Responsible for developing and constantly reviewing the sales processes in order to identify blockages, and ensure adherence to set standards.
  • Responsible for managing and monitoring the performance of the sales executives through developing their job descriptions, setting performance targets, conducting sales meeting & sales training.
  • Ensuring a high level of customer satisfaction through effective complaint handling.
  • Analyse market and customer trends to Identify new product/business  opportunities and advise management for implementation.
  • Coordinate with supply chain department to ensure timely ordering, delivery and availability of products for  improved sales & service delivery to our customers.
  • Participate in the stock ordering process for new products by identifying  appropriate products that can compete favourably in the market.
  • Effectively assess the competitors products by analysing market research studies to determine market opportunities for KAM product sales and competitor gaps in order to propose strategies that optimize product sales & distribution.
  • Responsible for developing and managing a product distribution chain taking into consideration appropriate distribution channels for the various products.
  • Carry out market segmentation and ensure allocation of product sales based on fast moving products per market territory.
  • Participation in the development of sales contracts for independent distributors in order to ensure achievement of sales targets.

QUALIFICATIONS/SKILLS/KNOWLEDGE REQUIRED:

  • Bachelors Degree in Business-Related discipline.
  • Minimum Five years experience in commercial/FMCG  sales.
  • Two years managerial experience

  • Communication & interpersonal Skills
  • Good negotiation skills
