Investment Analyst

Reports to: Managing Director

Job Purpose: Responsible for conducting in-depth research and analysis of financial markets,  identifying potential investment opportunities and risks, managing portfolios as well as making investment recommendations, that influence sound and profitable investment decisions and strategies.

Responsibilities

  1. Investment Research
    • Conduct research on companies, industries and financial markets
    • Analyse financial statements and business models
    • Identify potential investment opportunities across asset classes (equities, fixed income, private equity etc)
    • Monitor macroeconomic and market developments  
  2. Financial Modelling & Valuation
    • Build and maintain financial models
    • Perform company valuations using methods such as discounted cash flow (DCF), Comparable company analysis & Precedent Transactions
    • Assess investment risks and returns
  3. Investment Recommendations
    • Prepare investment memos and reports
    • Prepare analysis to the investment committee
    • Provide buy, sell or hold recommendations
  4. Portfolio Monitoring
    • Track portfolio performance
    • monitor company performance Vs forecasts
    • Update financial models and valuation assumptions
  5. Due Diligence
    • Support due diligence for new investments
    • Review financial, legal and operational information
    • Coordinate with lawyers, auditors and advisors
  6. Client stakeholder reporting
    • Prepare investor reports and presentations
    • Assist in preparing investment strategy updates
  7. Assisting in portfolio construction, rebalancing, and risk assessment.
  8. Collaborating with other investment professionals to align strategies and insight
  9. Stay current with economic, industry, market and company-specific data
  10. Maintaining relationships with brokers, analysts, and economists to stay informed on market developments
  11. Ensure compliance with industry regulations and standards
  12. Carry out any other duties and assignments as and when required

QUALIFICATIONS/ SKILLS / KNOWLEDGE

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, Accounting, or related field
  • Proficiency in financial modelling & data analysis and valuation.
  • Strong research, writing, and presentation skills.
  • Knowledgeable & passionate for local, regional and global economic and financial issues.
  • Atleast 2years of proven work experience as an analyst
  • Portfolio management, risk assessment, and investment strategies knowledge.
  • Proactive and self motivated
