JOB PURPOSE: The Business Development Officer will implement strategies to increase company sales and profits. RESPONSIBILITIES
- Drive business growth & customer by sourcing and onboarding new high-volume clients while scaling existing accounts.
- Relationship Management: Act as a trusted advisor to key stakeholders and manage strategic partnerships with banks and referral networks.
- Effectively work with your manager to develop business development and implement strategies to ensure achievement of set targets.
- Ensure cross-functional collaboration by serving as the primary liaison between clients and internal teams.
- Ensure effective service delivery and product marketing to boost brand presence.
- Oversee smooth service delivery for all fund activities and provide detailed reporting on sales performance and forecasts.
- Periodically conduct market review and analysis of the fund management industry to drive business performance.
- Review and prepare accurate and competitive bids and proposals for the fund management business.
- Process tenders and ensuring their timely submission.
- Follow-up existing clients to ensure business retention is optimised and the prescribed retention ratio is achieved.
- Ensure adherence to company and regulatory requirements.
- Liaise and support the agents/consultants to ensure adherence to company policies and achievement of business targets
- Support on onboarding and trainings of agents/consultants to enable them sell effectively
- Ensure timely preparation of client proposals.
- Perform any other duties as required.
SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor’s degree in a business related field
- Two years of experience in a similar position
- Experience working in the financial services sector with focus on business development is an added advantage.
- Demonstrated proficiency in computer/software packages e.g. Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint etc.
- Familiarity with the asset management and financial services industry in Uganda is essential.
- Strong sales and negotiation skills are paramount
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
