Job Purpose 
The Production Supervisor is responsible to oversee plastic part production in the manufacturing department.

  • Supervise and provide technical guidance to the production team.
  • Oversee the plastics production process; Develop and document effective processes to manufacture plastic parts that meet design and quality requirements.
  • Schedule and release work orders.
  • Work with the Assembly department to ensure on time delivery.
  • Troubleshoot non-conforming parts, perform root cause analysis and implement corrective action as needed.
  • Develop and implement processes for prototype parts and tool try outs.
  • Responsible for the life cycle of plastics equipment and ensure all preventative maintenance and calibration is completed as needed.
  • Recommend new equipment to meet the company needs and equipment obsolescence.
  • Assist in programming of injection molding robots for part removal, over mold and in-mold label installation as well as interaction with advanced automation systems.
  • Collaborate with Electrical, Mechanical, Mold Design, Software and Quality Control teams.
  • Liaise with other managers to formulate objectives and understand requirements
  • Estimate costs and prepare budgets
  • Monitor production to resolve issues
  • Supervise and evaluate performance of production personnel (quality inspectors, workers etc.)
  • Determine amount of necessary resources (workforce, raw materials etc.)
  • Approve maintenance work, purchasing of equipment etc.
  • Ensure output meets quality standards
  • Enforce health and safety precautions
  • KEY QUALIFICATIONS & PERSONAL CHARACTERISTICS REQUIRED:
  • Requires a Bachelor’s Degree with a minimum of 5 years injection mold management experience. On-the-job experience may be considered in place of educational requirement.
  • Experience with blow-molding machines and processes, preferred.
  • Experience with programmable and other production automation, preferred.
  • Proficient with Windows Office products (Word, Excel, Visio, Outlook, PowerPoint).
  • Has working knowledge of commonly used moulding concepts, protocol, and procedures.
  • Strong multi-tasking skills. Completes several concurrent tasks in an efficient and accurate manner.
  • Time management and estimation skills for providing management with accurate schedule requirement for project fulfillment. Must rely on extensive experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals in a variety of tasks.
  • Experience working in fast pace, high change environment, with limited supervision: self-starter.
  • Strong attention to detail with excellent prioritization and follow up skills.
  • Possess leadership skills and ability to be led in a manner that is healthy to our positive and productive work environment.
  • Emphasizes personal and professional growth. Keeps knowledge and skills current.
  • Ability to be part of team in order to produce quality materials within tight timeframes.
