Job Purpose/Objective

Responsible for providing safe and efficient transportation for staff, students, and documents while ensuring the proper maintenance of the organization’s vehicles. The role also includes handling deliveries and pickups, assisting with logistics, and ensuring adherence to road safety regulations.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Safely transport staff, guests, and other authorized persons as required.
  • Ensure timely and secure delivery of documents, parcels, and other items.
  • Follow assigned routes and schedules to ensure efficiency.
  • Conduct routine vehicle checks, including fuel, oil, tire pressure, and general condition.
  • Report any mechanical issues or needed repairs promptly.
  • Maintain cleanliness and proper documentation of the assigned vehicle.
  • Follow all traffic laws, safety regulations, and organizational policies while driving.
  • Ensure valid driving permits, insurance, and other vehicle-related documents are up to date.
  • Assist in responding to emergencies, such as breakdowns or accidents, and report incidents accordingly.
  • Collect and deliver mail, supplies, invoices, and other official documents.
  • Maintain a record of deliveries and pickups for accountability.
  • Coordinate with the administration team for scheduling and task prioritization.
  • Assist in loading and offloading goods when required.
  • Provide logistical support during events, meetings, and field visits.
  • Help in office errands, such as purchasing supplies or making bank deposits.
  • Interact professionally with staff, clients, and external contacts.
  • Represent the organization positively when engaging with partners and the public.
  • Maintain confidentiality and security when handling sensitive documents or information.

Education Qualifications and Experience

  • Valid driving permit/license for the appropriate vehicle category.
  • Certificate in defensive driving or fleet management is an added advantage.
  • 3-5 years of professional driving experience, preferably in a corporate or school setting.
  • Experience handling vehicle maintenance and transport logistics.
  • Familiarity with local routes, traffic laws, and safety regulations.
