Our client, a human rights organisation promoting safety and security of human rights defenders in Kenya through advocacy, capacity building and protection is searching for talent to fill the following key position

  1. Prepare periodical financial monitoring reports in the required institutional, donor format and currency.
  2. Participate in resource mobilization; assist in budgeting for funding proposals in the prescribed guidelines and timelines.
  3. Prepare financial report to be submitted to the donors.
  4. Ensure that payment requisitions are done as per donor budget line balances to help proper tracking of budgets.
  5. Ensure payment Journals, vouchers, staff claims and expense reports are completeness of documentation, accuracy and compliance to organization, donor and statutory policies.
  6. Make statutory payments including but not limited to PAYE, NSSF, NHIF, WHT, NITA etc.
  7. Participate in the development and review of internal policies, procedures and guidelines when necessary.
  8. Ensure that all accounts records are filed in an orderly manner.
  9. Perform monthly bank reconciliations on or before the stipulated deadlines.
  10. Manage petty cash by keeping updated records and performing cash reconciliations on weekly basis.
  11. Perform internal audits, including but not limited to, performance audits, financial audits, and compliance audits in accordance to the annual workplan.
  12. Communicate audit findings on a timely manner to the Finance Manager.  
  13. Any other duties as may be assigned.
